How do they work ?
We have a full list of Club days listed in the events calendar. One week before the match we will update Facebook and send out an email with an update on venue conditions and ask for a reply from anyone interested.
Two or  three days before the match a confirmation email is sent just to confirm numbers and any venue specific details and timings for meeting up.

On the Day :
Meet between 08:00 and 08:15, Draw at 8:30
Fishing from 10:00 until 15:00 (14:00 in winter)
Weigh in can take 45 minutes to 1 hour..

How much does it cost ?
We have a £1 peg fee that goes back into the Club.
Pool entry is optional but we usually put in £4. The pool pay-out depends on the number of anglers
On non Club venues there is also a day ticket to pay to the fishery (£9 for Decoy)

What are the trophies ?
The Club has a long history and a number of trophies that date back many years.
Most Club Days are associated with a trophy or a progression through a competitive series.
See here for a full list of trophies and a link to recent winners.

Other Details:
Keep nets – Loan nets can be arranged, please indicate in your reply.
Club Cups – We have an individual trophy/cup for each event.
Prizes and Pools – On the day for those interested a prize pool will be created and the amounts for 1st, 2nd & 3rd declared. Dependant on numbers there will also be section pay outs.

Please Note:-
All attendees on the Fur and Feather match in December will go away with a prize, such as a bottle of wine or box of chocolates, etc. as in keeping with the clubs tradition.

Venues Subject To Conditions – These will be decided in the week leading up to the Club Day. Mainly due to conditions of the venue and also to take advantage of venues that are fishing well at the time. Once decided then the venue details will be sent out via email and on DSJAC Facebook page.

Please Note: On Commercial Venues – Peg availability may be limited, contact the Club Day organiser for latest information – clubdays@dsjac.co.uk

Club Day Organiser – Jason Chatham
Jason Chatham is our Club Day Organiser and he has just just completed a very successful 2023/24 season of events.
Jason works full time for The Automobile Association in London as the Group Digital Engineering Director, delivering websites and mobile apps for the AA brand
He began his angling passion many years ago when he was 8, not too far from the banks of our Horseshoe lake over on the River Nene at Yarwell Mill.

Jason says “2024 will be my fifth year of volunteering as the Match Secretary. We have steadily managed to continue to build up the number of attendees at our fun and very sociable Club Days.

They really are a great way to improve your skills and even learn new techniques from the other anglers, who also offer sound advice and opinions on tackle and baits. In addition, you get to fish a variety of venues, like Decoy Lakes, and see some great catches.
Anglers of all abilities attend the Club Days and we are always looking for ways to include more people.

If you have any suggestions as to how we can be more inclusive to increase attendance, please get in touch.”
