Angling can be a dangerous pastime, often fishing in remote/isolated areas of the rivers/drains. For those who have access to a smart phone there is a very useful, free “App” called what3words which uses gps by mapping the world into 3m x 3m squares making it incredibly accurate to locate where you are.
Lincolnshire Police already use this system and it is hoped that all the emergency services will soon be using it.
The app works by finding where your mobile phone is, generate the three words that applies to your location ( such as for example STRING, ROCK, LEMON), you relate this to the emergency services operator and they’ll know exactly where you are. Really simple to install on your phone and not at all complicated as it almost immediately generates the three words.
My health is now gradually improving and aiming to be back on the banks by Christmas. I’d like to thank all that have enquired after me and their kind words.
