24 November, River Welland – Deeping St James.

On the third time of trying, DSJAC managed to fish the River Welland roadside section through Deeping St James for the annual Remembrance Shield. The recent flood waters had dropped, the river was in great condition and the weather even stayed dry. Ron Needham led the way with fine bag of Silvers for 14lb 7oz. Pole fishing bread punch over liquidised bread, Ron found the centre of the river to provide the best sport from Peg number 23. Ray Torrington using similar tactics came second with 11lbs 10oz from peg 15. Tony Johnson finished third with 11lb 4oz from peg 11.
Plenty of feeding Pike, gave amusement to most anglers during the match.
