Match Result: Sunday 7th June 2026 Venue: Decoy Lakes - Six Isands It was the first trip of the 2026 Season to Decoy Lakes and the “L” shaped Six Islands lake. Nine anglers were available and the blustery conditions made things slightly more challenging. Anglers would be competing for the Doxam Rosebowl with 2025’s winner Jason Chatham looking to retain the trophy. The original Doxam trophy was a stuffed fish in a case, which was donated by Fred Doxam who used to live at The Mere in Deeping St James. This venue was often used by the club for Junior and Committee matches. The stuffed fish was sold on the internet and the proceeds used to buy the Rosebowl. It was also the first round of the Fenland Cup. Fished over 4 rounds at both Decoy and Kingsland and won by the angler with the highest points total from the 4 rounds. Current Fenland Cup holder Jason Chatham would be looking to get off to a good start. Finally, it would also be the 2rd round of the individual Knockout Trophy. Jason Chatham would be looking to retain his 2025 crown in this one as well !! The overall winner on the day with a great weight of Decoy Lakes F1’s was Dave Preston. Dave finished with 124lb 15oz from unlucky peg number 13. Dave fished top 3 on the pole using 6mm pellets on the bottom, switching to shallow on his top 4 for the last hour. Second Place was David Pike with 80lbs 4oz from peg number 18. David fished the method feeder down the edge using pink Wafter and switched to 8mm pellet or cat meat in the margins. Third place was Joe Price with 72lb 14 oz from peg number 25. Joe fished the method feeder using corn or pink Wafter down the edge.
