Last year volunteers put in over 350 hours of work at Horseshoe Lake and the Fish Refuge.
This excludes recent emergency work clearing fallen trees at the lake this winter.
The committee has designed a rewards scheme for those that regularly attend work parties which has been well received.
Before the scheme the dedicated few members got food and our thanks but no tangible rewards for a lot of effort. The trial gave regular attendees discounts on lake or membership prices.
Not every member can shift logs or drag a weed rake but we have jobs for all abilities, litter picking, grass cutting and many other light jobs that are not strenuous.
This year we are expanding the scheme to encourage more able-bodied members to participate.
More Hours = More Reward
