First Club Day of the 2022 – 2023 season and it was the club’s own Horseshoe Lake at Sibson for the first venue. Seventeen anglers in total competing in the first round of the Individual Knockout Cup. Plus the first of the three rounds of the Wade Cup.
Conditions had been slightly mild of late and where sheltered from the light but fresh easterly breeze, it was a warm day.
Nathan Grech finished in first place with a winning weight of 123 lbs from peg 17. Fishing very tight to the far bank using the Method feeder and micros alternating pink / white Wafter. Nathan also landed the biggest fish of the day at 12lb, one of many doubles taken across the match.
Second place was Stuart Baxter (+ Dillon) with 87 lbs 12 oz from Peg 39. Stuart caught on both the Float with Bread and Method feeder to the far bank with 8mm pink Wafter.
Third place went to Phil Price with 74 lbs 6 oz from Peg 19. Phil caught mostly on the surface at range using dog biscuit.
