Warm, dry and sunny conditions for the 18 anglers that visited Skylark Lake over at Boston’s Westwood Lake complex.
Following on from a fairly heavy calendar of matches on this lake. The anglers were greeted with plenty of fish topping. Competing for the Club Cup and for some in the Individual Knockout Series. Water levels were slightly down, but most anglers were surprised how shallow the middle lines were.
First place, Club Cup winner and a place in the next round of the knockout cup goes to Graham Wright. Fishing peg 10 (opposite the Mallard Lounge Bar) Graham finished with 57 lbs 12 oz. Despite trying different baits and lines, homemade paste at 5 metres proved to be the only way to catch for Graham.
Second Place was Nathan Grech with 53 lbs 15 oz from peg 2. Nathan fished 6mm banded pellet over 4mm pellets against the island and then maggots over groundbait down the edge.
Third Place was Nigel Collis from the most idyllic looking peg 1. Nigel finished with 50 lbs 12oz, using 6mm hard pellet over micros at 13 metres and groundbait and maggots in the margins.
